My hearts are headed to Columbus, Ohio and St. Petersburg, Florida and fun time with some friends.

These hearts are headed to the Ohio Craft Museum gift store.

There has been so much clay activity going on close by where I live and in my studio.  The Ohio Craft Museum has agreed to carry my porcelain hearts and I was able to stop by the Shaker Heights Arts and Music Festival drop off hearts to Betty Talbott who will bring the hearts back to Columbus.  Thank you Leigh, Betty and Ohio Designer Craftsmen for giving the hearts a go in the store area.

I will be sending off a box of functional work, 4 trays, 4 bowls, and 4 mugs to American Crafts and Jewels in Carmel California today.  Thank you Iva.   And on Thursday or Friday I will be sending hearts to Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Thank you Desmond, Thaddeus and Melissa for walking me through this process.

On Monday, I was also able to stop by Kent State University to hear Matt Courtney and Dave Alban talk about their clay work.  Eva Kwong, Matt Courtney and Dave Alban are teaching the Blossom Summer Workshop at Kent State University this year.  Dinner afterwards was a fun time for all...
Happy Birthday Brinsley.

After dinner I was inspired to drive home at make small beads close to the midnight hour in order to test a clay body and underglazes in the wood kiln which is being loaded today.  Thanks Matt for inspiring this crazy idea.  Part of the intrigue with working with clay and glaze is the mad scientist part.  Thank you Mindy Sands for taking the beads back to Kent.  I will be sure to share the results should there be any great surface colors.

We all miss you Kirk.  xo-
