KIRK MANGUS - Memorial
"KIRK MANGUS, 1952 – 2013 Prof. Kirk Mangus, an extraordinary artist and head of our ceramics program, died suddenly last weekend after a short illness. Kirk was a beloved teacher and friend throughout his 28 years at Kent State University, and was immensely proud of his students. A prolific and inimitable artist, his work was shown and praised all over the country and all over the world. Please join us in extending our heartfelt condolences to Kirk’s wife Eva, his daughter Una, his son Jasper, his family and his many friends on this loss. There will be a reception and memorial service to celebrate Kirk’s life on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the School of Art Gallery and adjacent auditorium. The reception, running from noon to 2 p.m., will include the sharing of poems and artwork; the memorial service will begin at 2. For more information, please call 330-672-2192 or email haturner@kent.edu |
